Ramón Salaverría
PhD in Communication, I am Full Professor of Journalism in the School of Communication at University of Navarra, where I hold a teaching and research experience of nearly 30 years. My research focuses on digital journalism and disinformation. In 2024, I was appointed Member of Academia Europaea (MAE).
Author of over 300 scholarly publications, I am listed in the Stanford University ranking of the 2% most cited researchers in the world. In 2023, I won the ‘Researcher of the Year’ award at the Roblon Awards, which recognize excellence on media and communication research in Spanish-speaking countries.
I am the principal investigator of IBERIFIER – Iberian Digital Media Observatory, co-funded by the European Commission.
I was visiting researcher at the Digital Media Research Program in the University of Texas at Austin (USA), as well as guest professor at a dozen universities in several countries. I chaired the Journalism Studies Section of ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association), as well as the Committee of Experts on Increasing Resilience of Media (MSI-RES) at the Council of Europe.
I have delivered keynotes and workshops in more than 30 countries.
